Desperate Measures

The music we play is mainly the jazz standards but also includes some more modern jazz.

The videos below have been reccorded over the six or seven years. During that time we have a few changes of band members so the videos show different line-ups for the band, but give an indication of some of the tunes we play.

Playing live doesn't give the clinical perfection you'd get from a multitracked studio recording - but we enjoy it and our audiences seem to as well!

The audio clips below are from live performances recorded with a single microphone and therefore are not studio quality.

"Love me or Leave Me" is a 1920s song written by Walter Donaldson.

"Mandela" is a more modern tune by Abdullah Ibrahim.

"It's Only a Paper Moon" is a 1930s song written by Harold Arlen

"Sandhu" is a village in the Gujar Khan Tehsil of Rawalpindi District, of Punjab, Pakistan but I've no idea if that is what this tune is about.

Another Ibrahim number "Water from an Ancient Well"

"Feeling Low" is a song for anyone feeling low!

"in a Mellow Tone" is a Duke Ellington tune

"Moondance" was written by Van Morrison around 1970,
